Past life quiz

mood: amused amused

Result: A Terrifying Warrior You know how you're a total badass? Well, there's a good reason for that. Long ago, you were a great warrior who didn't think twice about lopping off your enemies' heads. And that sounds pretty badass to us. All of that killing and pillaging has made such a dent in your soul that the universe is still punishing you for it. So if you feel sometimes like the world's out to get you, that's why. If you want to correct things, all you have to do is be a good, helpful, decent human being. It won't bring those poor villagers back to life, but it can't hurt.

Just stuff

Sep. 22nd, 2007 | 08:56 pm
mood: cold cold

Well, today I finally got the season two of Angel. I got season two because I knew thats when Fred Burkle enters in and I wanted to see the episode where she's found. Season three would have had more of her but I guess I'll get it later. I also got another book.

Theres too many books I want to read! Sure, I could blow a bunch of my money on them but its not my style. I can save a hundred dollars for an entire year and not spend a dime.

So... I spent about maybe, 6 hours watching Angel? Which means I've just started on disk two out of six. Well, not exactly 6 hours because I took a break to work out a little.

I had to stop working out for a few days so I could move but I'm starting back up again and I'm determined. I need more mass, I'm working on a good diet for that. Definition and tone are coming along great though. I've been working on my triceps, biceps, forearm and abs. Triceps are one of my favourite muscle groups and ever since I've started working with them, its helped a lot. Makes the biceps look bigger, but I'm still pretty small. It'll come in time, I just gotta stick to this attitude.

I haven't started looking for a job yet, but next week I'll be putting my resume together and I'll see who is hiring.

And for the heck of it, I know its going to be at 1 or 0(1 because I know a certain someone will throw it in.) I figured it would be fun :P

A little bit bored

Aug. 28th, 2007 | 07:16 pm
mood: bored bored
music: Send a prayer-Gentleman

I'm a bit bored, y'know? I'm not in a depressed mood or anything, in fact I've been quite content for a pretty long time now. Its funny how much a vacation can really set you straight mentally.

Anyway, last week my one of my cousins came down for a few days. And we have a lot in common even though theres a 3 year gap(I'm older.) We both like to go out for walks and explore things like the waterfall and nature trails. The thing is, its not the same alone and theres no one I know around here that is interested in the same things. So right now I feel pretty bored because I feel like I could be outside doing something but its just no fun by myself. I tried going out for a walk with my dog this morning and it just felt boring.

I remember two years ago they came down for two weeks to help me look after the house. I remember when they left, I kind of got really depressed because I got used to having someone to hang out with that was into the things I was.

I like to keep myself busy because I know if I do I wont get lazy. I'll be happier and be more productive. I do have a lot of projects in mind right now, but I haven't set a date for them yet. And I've had to take on a new responsibility again.

In WoW I ended up getting promoted to guild master. I know I could do a way better job than my -other- cousin(sheesh, I associate with my cousins a lot.)He expected too much and never enforced anything. All he did was sit back and complain to me that people weren't doing anything. He was just thinking about individuals instead of the guild as a whole. I have no clue what has gotten into him, but he's quick to anger and no fun to play with anymore. He can't take constructive criticism no matter how much you sugar coat it. Its a bummer that it had to end this way. I hope I'm able to run this guild, because I'd really like to pass on the responsibility to someone who has the time. I know I could make this guild something great and I know what to do, I just don't know if I have the time or the patience at this point. I wouldn't mind just being a member and not an officer or guild leader again.

Well, I guess I have to find some way to kill this boredom. Maybe if I get started on a few drawings I've been meaning to do I could get somewhere. With all the studies and drawings I've been doing to improve my art, I hope it really starts to pay off. I'm seeing little improvements, but I can't see any big ones yet.

Stupid freaking brackets...

Jul. 26th, 2007 | 10:41 am
mood: sleepy sleepy

So about 3 months ago, I had a loose bracket and got it glued back on. If you don't know what I'm talking about, the kind of bracket I mean goes on the back of your teeth. I had braces for a while for a small overbite and when they came off they put the brackets on and said that they would be on for five years or something. So when they glued it back into place, they touched everything else up. It came to about 75$ Canadian just to get it glued.

So a few days ago, what happens? Its loose AGAIN! Now I can understand that wearing a retainer would shift the teeth and it gets loose a bit. However what I don't understand is that it costs 75$ to get it glued back on. How many times is this going to happen until it comes off?

So, while I was eating, it felt like a piece of food got in there so I went and got a tooth pick to go and get it out quick. So I place it where I think the food is and it turns out it wasn't any food at all. Out popped a piece of the bracket.

Ah well, maybe they wont be on that long.

I'm also having the worst case of insomnia. I'll be dead tired but my body just wont let me sleep. I don't want to have to use sleeping pills all the time so its a bit rough sometimes but its better my body learns how to do it and I use the pills when I really have to.

But other than all that, I'm fine. I've been drawing like mad and I've noticed a definite increase in skill over the past month. And its a pretty nice improvement I've noticed.
I found a Bridgman book online to download, so I'll practise some of that.

Cramped toes and a laptop

Jul. 20th, 2007 | 03:51 pm
mood: sore sore

Ever had a cramped foot before? I bet you know how much they hurt, so how about a cramped toe?

Last night I happened to run into that experience and I can tell you it hurts 10x worse. When you bend your toes, they're all supposed to bend together. Now imagine only your big toe is bent down and is stuck like that. It looked like it was broken.

I wanted to take a picture of it but it went back into place. It actually went back into place twice. I just saw it move on its own back and I was thinking it was over. Then I see it move down into the cramp and it hurt even worse. The thing is, I couldn't touch it, massage it or stretch it because every time I did, the other side of my foot would cramp up.

I wish I had a picture of it. Sure, it hurt a lot but it looked cool.

Yesterday we got a laptop. My dad has been wanting one for a long time :P

Value

Jan. 25th, 2007 | 04:58 pm

Ok, so this might get a bit deep but I figured I'd organize it into words.

Something had been bothering me for a while. When you've gone through some human history, you discover things people did but you never know why they did some of the things they did. Why they thought it had value.

When you realize how fragile life is and that it can end in a split second, it makes you wonder. What is valued as good time spent? Some would say it is doing something you enjoy, while others would say it is about how much you balance things. Of course theres more to it than that, these are just popular reasons. For some, like me, it is about bettering yourself and having good memories and seeking that to make more. Nostalgia is something we love.

So what is valuable time spent? Lets go over some of these things and you may find it pretty surprising.
For a moment, I want you to imagine that you are a foreign being that stumbled upon Earth. You examine humans and notice what they do. They sit infront of boxes referred to as computers or tvs, and even when you see them play sports or other recreational activities you wonder why.
Now step back into your human mentality, isn't that a bit eerie? Any movement and any activity, regardless of what it may be, looks very awkward or weird.

Now take this into consideration. As many people argue which is the best way to spend your free time, no one really looks at the subject itself. Reading is seen as a good passtime but you are just sitting there and reading information. With a computer, you are sitting there and reading information. With a tv you are sitting there seeing and hearing information.
Sometimes these things reward knowledge but what is their purpose?
The same thing can be applied to sports, we typically play them for fun. Sometimes for money or a profession, but other than those what does it reward us with? Exercise can keep us in shape but a sport is for enjoyment.

In the end they're all similar.

A few years ago, I read something someone wrote in a journal. They said that they would be cutting back on their computer time because of something they thought of.
What if when you died, you had to watch your life all over again? Now for me, watching a screen, even if I'm not on the computer is still enjoyable. I'd watch people play games as entertainment when I was younger. Of course I played myself, but I found it interesting to see how they played.

However I don't think the message was about how boring it'd be, I think it was about fulfilling their lives. Something more.

For most of our early years, we are taught and prepared to work. Once we go through all the training needed, we begin our careers. These careers give us an income, what we use to survive. Then we get to a point where we cannot work anymore, usually determined by society. Even if we can work.
And as silly as it sounds, I think that is purpose. You are working to continue to live.

Then, we have our spare time. What else is left there? What is valuable? Would you be content when you finally leave this world?

I admit that I wish I had done some things differently at a younger age. I wish I had the memories and experiences people my age had. I always wanted them, now I'm finding that maybe I should have tried harder. Maybe if I had acted on vocal music more I would have been able to do something with it, and I don't mean fame. And its not about wondering what if, its wondering what I can do now. What is missing?

And thats pretty much all of it. You don't have to answer anything, this is just something to make you think.

Well, I'll just get working on customizing this thing.
